"Bulletproof holster. Why would we need that?"
First is the "huh" look usually. The more rare comment is from more operator types of "oh, it will protect the weapon" (which it can, and there are applications for that, but limited). Then the old finger in the air "this is my safety," response oh, I wouldn't need that, etc.
The hardest thing for a person to admit is that they will have some screw-up/accident, whether it be their fault or not. Then when explained to them, the light bulb goes off!
Some examples… A police officer has their gun drawn and is arresting a perpetrator, they start to holster and the perpetrator moves. There is a thing call sympathetic reflex, basically when your left-hand grabs, your right-hand grabs and bang… especially under stress. Or if there is a struggle for their gun and it goes off in an area of the holster.
You have a combat medic or other personnel out in the field and they are in a gun fight and they have to holster up quickly and during their rolling on the ground or running through brush they get a twig or foreign object in their kit and it hits the trigger upon holstering… now you have your medic or other member injured while out in the field… not the ideal situation.
A person is holstering and one of the strings on their clothing or plastic adjustment pieces from jacket gets into the trigger guard while holstering.
There are multitudes of real life examples to give. In each case you have a negligent discharge with serious consequences…
This invention doesn't prevent these things from happening. What it does is prevent the consequences of these negligent discharges. This holster will capture the round in the holster, saving not only the user from a life threatening wound, but also the perpetrator who might get hit, users teammates or the old lady walking her dog across the street from getting hit with a ricochet/splatter. The aftermath of these holstering mishaps can have significant financial consequences to the owner and/or the entity for which he works. In addition to the potential of someone dying, there's the downtime of an injured officer, citizen or soldier, the cost of workman's comp, lawsuits or the possibility of a mission failure. We anticipate mayors, chiefs and village managers requiring ballistic "bullet proof" holsters requiring that bullet proof holsters become standard equipment for their first responders as both a life saving measure and a fiscally responsible measure. Similar statistics of accidental shootings suggest that the military would enjoy similar benefits. That portion of the civilian market that has been made aware of the holster are also keen as to its benefits.
We can make complex shapes with this formula, giving it not only utility and function but also easy on the eyes. Read...
It make the most sense to be in the best hands of a manufacturer or multiple manufacturers. Read...
