Main material for side walls are .1168 thick (plus there are some support bands that add a little in sections) and can maybe go a bit thinner using new combinations of materials. Other duty and carry holsters have been from about: .096 to.110 for cheap kydex holsters to .219 for old duty holster and the Eidolon by Raven Concealment is approx. .129 The holster started off as a complete block… literally. Then got a bit more refined and still successful and then moved into complex shapes.
We can make into what ever is on the market potentially, an Eidolon type shape for example, IWB holsters, a holster that works with lights mounted etc. we are fully confident we can meet or come close to what is out there and offer the ballistic safety capabilities.
This example should cover it…. at a show a leading holster manufacturer had said they were just talking about making a bulletproof holster. We said well this is our lucky day then, we just happen to have it. This was while the patent was pending and not granted a patent yet. They said they were super interested and to meet with them in a couple of days. When we met again, they said they did some research and someone already had gotten a patent on a bulletproof holster a while ago. They told us the name of the patent and we said well that isn’t a bulletproof holster. That’s simply an ineffective insert purporting to be a bulletproof holster. Basically, it’s a piece of Kevlar into which you stick the muzzle of a gun, wrap the Kevlar around the gun, and then shove the gun into your holster… very impractical and virtually useless for first responders or in any serious defense situation. Further, per the other invention, “you must fire it at this one spot, in one direction, otherwise it won’t work. “ With our bulletproof holster it’s actually the holster that is bulletproof, not an insert. You can fire in any direction and be contained. The other was simply a gimmick. The acid test would be the time-tested adage of “What would you choose if your life depended on it?"
We can make complex shapes with this formula, giving it not only utility and function but also easy on the eyes. While my first two iterations were boxier, the third generation discovered possibilities and made shapely and even tossed in a complex curve to see how far I could take it. What is also important is that you can attach retention devices to the bulletproof holster… so you can have whatever level of protection you need!
